How big is too big for the self-serve tools?
The app and API handle a lot on their own — up to 5,000 pages in a merge or split job, 200 pages in the editor, and 200 pages per bulk conversion. Past that, or when the work needs judgement rather than a setting, we run it for you.
What's actually in the free corpus report?
Page counts and file sizes across the whole set, which files are encrypted or corrupt, which have a searchable text layer and which are images of text, and the spread of page sizes and orientations. It tells you whether the job you have in mind is the job you actually have. There's no charge and no obligation to go further.
How do you quote?
On the corpus report. We tell you the price for the whole run before anything starts, and it does not move afterwards. For work that repeats — a monthly statement run, a nightly batch — we quote per run.
Can you work with scanned documents?
Splitting, merging, reordering and compression work on scans exactly as they do on digital PDFs. Pulling text out of them needs OCR first, which we quote for separately. The corpus report tells you which of your files need it, which is usually fewer than people expect.
What happens to our files?
They are processed and returned, then deleted on the schedule we agree up front. We can work under your NDA, and for anything sensitive we can agree a retention window shorter than the standard one.
